European Senior Bowling Championships
All-time listing medals won by nation.


The results in the double and trio events are counted as a team result. So, winning a trio event, means one gold medal!

Alphabetic listing of all-time medal winners.


In 1992 in La Rochelle, France, the events where:
12 games single and 12 games doubles in two age-groups and split up in women and men.
Age group 1: 50 - 60 year old.
Age group 2: 61 years and older.
After those 24 games an all-events ranking was made in three age-groups:
Age group A: 50 -56 year.
Age group B: 56 - 66 year.
Age group C: 67 year and older.

In 1993 in Hilvarenbeek, The Netherlands, the events where:
6 games single, 6 games double and 6 games trio in a mixed team in the 3 age-groups.
The best six players after the 18 games have to play 5 one-games one against the other.
The pinfall (18 games) was not counted in round-robin.
The bonus in the round-robin was: Won 20 pins; tie 10 pins, 200-249 games 5 pins and 250-300
game 10 pins.

In 1994 Helsinki, 1995 Dublin, 1996 Arhus , 1997 Brussels, 1998 Norrköping 1999 Johannesburg and 2000 Natanya the age-groups where the same, but the trio event was split up in a women and a men event.
Mixed trios had to play in the men event.
The pinfall (18 games) was counted in round-robin.

When a double consists of two players from different age-groups, they have to play in the age-group
of the youngest player. Mixed doubles are not allowed.

From 1998 in Norrköping the players in the C group received in each game for each full year they are older than the age of 67 year a bonus of 1pin.

On the next pages you will find all the medal winners in the Championships played up to now.
After each name of a player is stated, the year, the event, the age-group, the place, the number of
games , total score, the total bonus in the masters and the bonus in the C group.

The results of the masters are including the bonus.
Note: In 1995 and 2002 results, the bonus was not mentioned.

We now write august 2002.
In june 2002 Wim de Wit ended his career as president of ESBC and so ended his very nice work for ESBC.
So I have to take over the most accurate files of the history of ESBC.
I like to thank Wim for his very good and hard work and his patience to get every champion in his files.
Wim you did a great job!!

In
2002 in Vienna we changed some rules concerning the age groups:
Group A: 50 – 57 years
Group B: 58 – 64 years
Group C: 65 and more
The players in the C group received in each game for each full year they are older than the age of 65 year a bonus of 1pin. (This rule did not change only the age has changed (67 to 65)

In
2003 in Bergen, there were no changing in playing rules or age groups.

In
2004 in Helsinki, we changed the rule about international teams, there were no changing in age groups.

In
2008 in Nantes we changed the rules of the Trio event, the age groups are still the same.

Please look at the result book very carefully and if there is anything wrong or some facts are missing, respond
in writing to the secreatary of ESBC.
I have no archive to look missing facts up, so you have to give me the names,dates and the results. But thanks to the ETBF , you can look all results on their web page!
